Job summary

OSI Maritime Systems, a global provider of navigation and bridge systems, seeks a Director of Production and Supply Chain in Burnaby, Canada. You will lead procurement, inventory, shipping, and manufacturing to deliver IMO-compliant products.

You will drive continuous improvement, enforce ISO 9001 and CMMI procedures, and manage supplier performance while mentoring a diverse team. A NATO clearance is required.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Science, Engineering or related discipline.
  • 10+ years in Operations with 5+ years in a management role.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain NATO secret security clearance.
  • Experience leading diverse teams and coordinating across functions.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and CMMI processes.

  • Oversee Procurement, Inventory, Shipping & Receiving and Manufacturing.
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost efficiency in operations.
  • Maintain ISO 9001 and CMMI procedures and policies.
  • Develop supplier management programs and assess suppliers.
  • Plan workforce and budgets for production activities.
  • Coordinate with project management, engineering and supply chain.
  • Mentor and develop team members and ensure onboarding.
  • Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.

The Director, Production and Supply Chain, manages the following aspects of the Company’s operations; Procurement, Inventory Management, Shipping & Receiving and Manufacturing to deliver International Marine Organization (IMO) compliant products to our customers.

What will you do?
  • Through the management of others ensures that materials, services and equipment required to manufacture our systems combine to deliver goods to our customers in accordance with contracted quality, schedule and cost limits.
  • Drive, through Continuous Improvement, greater efficiency in the execution of activities.
  • Ensure that Company ISO 9001 and CMMI procedures and policies are maintained.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager to develop quality control procedures.
  • Develop and maintain supplier management program to ensure suppliers are assessed and continue to contribute to the Company’s procurement objectives
  • Assesses inventory holdings and develops programs to manage inventory and ensure the most efficient use of warehouse resources. Coordinates with finance/accounting on matters involving inventory carrying costs.
  • Mentor and collaborate with team members to ensure ongoing professional development and skill advancement.
  • Ensure optimal workforce planning within the team.
  • Follow workplace operating, environmental, health and safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Accountable for the effective onboarding of all team members.
  • Support proposal and project activities by estimating production costs, establishing production budgets and ensuring management of production activities within allocated budgets
  • Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments including project management, engineering and supply chain;
  • Ensure timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning, quality control and manufacturing of production materials.
  • Ensure best practices are embraced and implemented to lower manufacturing and procurement costs and increase efficiency.
  • Create on-going key performance indicators and targets to track cost, schedule, quality and overall performance of the manufacturing and the procurement functions.
What will you bring?
  • Requires a degree in Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years’ direct experience in a relevant Operations field with 5 or more years’ experience in a management and leadership position.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain NATO secret security clearance throughout the employment period.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with:
  • Managing a diverse team of professionals.
  • Resource planning and forecasting needs.
  • Development and maintenance of ISO processes and procedures.
  • Project scheduling tools and MS Office software
  • Product Lifecycle Management Tools.
  • Materials Requirements Planning tools.
