Job Description
Role Mandate :
- Perform the role of Product Developer, ensuring flexible support for the Product Development team as responsibilities shift with business needs.
- Collaborate with the Raw Materials and Design Teams to source seasonal trims and techniques.
- Partner with Design, Product Development, and Technical Design to ensure all details and timelines are met, flagging any issues immediately.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to meet margin targets while maintaining the integrity of the style.
- Manage timelines and ensure delivery aligns with calendar deadlines, proactively communicating and addressing challenges.
Role Responsibilities :
- Attend and actively participate in milestone meetings.
- Lead key seasonal meetings, providing analysis to support direction and align with cross-functional partners.
- Analyze all components of garments, set FOB targets, and negotiate costs directly with overseas factories to achieve desired price points and margin goals.
- Collaborate with the Design Team to execute styles from initial concept through to hand-off with the Production Team.
- Initiate and maintain accurate Bills of Materials throughout the product lifecycle.
- Communicate with factories and follow-up on design development and style confirmation.
- Negotiate costs directly with overseas factories to ensure alignment with price point and margin objectives.
- Responsible for tracking and distribution of fabric / trim sourcing to the Design Team
- Maintain daily communication with vendors to ensure adherence to the Development Calendar.
- Prepare samples and materials for meetings.
- Attend and contribute Product Development perspectives during first fit sessions.
- Facilitate weekly collaboration with Design and Raw Materials teams.
- Analyze sales data from current and previous seasons.
- Participate in team store visits and competitive shopping.
Role Qualifications :
- College education or equivalent experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- 5+ years of work experience in a fashion industry-related role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required.
- PLM knowledge is a plus but not required.
- Strong knowledge of fabric content and construction.
- Keen eye for design, detail, and style.
- Ability to troubleshoot quickly while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Capable of performing responsibilities independently when the supervisor is not present.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively.
