Job Description

Role Mandate:

1. Perform the role of Product Developer, ensuring flexible support for the Product Development team as responsibilities shift with business needs.
2. Collaborate with the Raw Materials and Design Teams to source seasonal trims and techniques.
3. Partner with Design, Product Development, and Technical Design to ensure all details and timelines are met, flagging any issues immediately.
4. Work closely with cross-functional teams to meet margin targets while maintaining the integrity of the style.
5. Manage timelines and ensure delivery aligns with calendar deadlines, proactively communicating and addressing challenges.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Product Development for Childrenswear.
2. Attend and actively participate in milestone meetings.
3. Lead key seasonal meetings, providing analysis to support direction and align with cross-functional partners.
4. Analyze all components of garments, set FOB targets, and negotiate costs directly with overseas factories to achieve desired price points and margin goals.
5. Collaborate with the Design Team to execute styles from initial concept through to hand-off with the Production Team.
6. Initiate and maintain accurate Bills of Materials throughout the product lifecycle.
7. Communicate with factories and follow-up on design development and style confirmation.
8. Negotiate costs directly with overseas factories to ensure alignment with price point and margin objectives.
9. Responsible for tracking and distribution of fabric/trim sourcing to the Design Team.
10. Maintain daily communication with vendors to ensure adherence to the Development Calendar.
11. Prepare samples and materials for meetings.
12. Attend and contribute Product Development perspectives during first fit sessions.
13. Facilitate weekly collaboration with Design and Raw Materials teams.
14. Analyze sales data from current and previous seasons.
15. Participate in team store visits and competitive shopping.

Role Qualifications:

1. College education or equivalent experience.
2. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
3. 5+ years of work experience in a fashion industry-related role.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required.
5. PLM knowledge is a plus but not required.
6. Strong knowledge of fabric content and construction.
7. Keen eye for design, detail, and style.
8. Ability to troubleshoot quickly while maintaining a positive attitude.
9. Capable of performing responsibilities independently when the supervisor is not present.
10. Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
11. Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively.
12. Thrives in a diverse and dynamic work environment.
