Job summary

Job Description

• Our Client, a leading financial institution, is seeking an Intermediate Product Designer – Native Mobile (L8) to design easy-to-use, accessible, and client-focused investing experiences for its flagship Mobile App — Self-Directed Investing capabilities across iOS and Android.
• You will own features end to end — from high-level experience concepts through detailed interaction and visual design — partnering closely with product managers, researchers, content designers, and developers in an agile environment. You will leverage and contribute to the Client Mobile design system, publishing components, patterns, and documentation in Figma, and ensure every design is technically feasible, platform-correct, and optimized for native implementation.
• This is ideal for a balanced product designer who thinks strategically about user experience while delivering polished visuals: you sweat states, behaviors, transitions, and edge cases; you design for accessibility (WCAG); and you stay current on emerging mobile platform capabilities. If you are passionate about creating simple, elegant experiences that help clients confidently manage and grow their investments — and you can be onsite a minimum of 4 days a week — we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Native Mobile Product Design — Self-Directed Investing (iOS & Android)

• Design easy-to-use, accessible, and client-focused experiences for the Client Mobile App — Self-Directed Investing capabilities across iOS and Android.
• Create both high-level experience concepts and detailed UI designs that align with product goals and platform standards.
• Partner closely with product managers, researchers, content designers, and developers to define and deliver new features and enhancements.
• Ensure designs are technically feasible and optimized for native mobile implementation.
• Produce detailed specifications, prototypes, and design documentation to support successful delivery.

Design System, Accessibility & Craft

• Leverage and contribute to the Client Mobile design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across the platform.
• Publish and maintain component libraries, patterns, and documentation in Figma.
• Design for accessibility and ensure compliance with WCAG standards and evolving platform requirements.
• Stay current with emerging mobile platform capabilities, accessibility standards, and industry best practices to help evolve the mobile experience.
• Independently drive feature design from discovery and concepting through implementation and QA, integrating feedback constructively.

Required Skillsets

• Native Mobile Expertise (iOS & Android): 3–5 years designing native mobile applications; strong command of iOS and Android design patterns, interaction models, and platform-specific guidelines.
• End-to-End Product Design: Demonstrated ability to take features from concept exploration through detailed interaction and visual design to delivery.
• Figma (Advanced): 4 years’ proficiency including wireframing, prototyping, component usage, and design documentation.
• Design Systems (Native): Hands-on experience working with and contributing to design systems, component libraries, and theming frameworks for native mobile.
• Interaction & UI Design: Comprehensive understanding of interaction and UI design (5 years); strong fundamentals in Responsive Web and Mobile Application design for Android and iOS (5 years).
• Detail & Edge-Case Craft: Meticulous attention to states, behaviors, transitions, and edge-case experiences; polished, feasible specs for engineering.
• Banking & Investing Domain: Banking knowledge (5 years) and investing knowledge (5 years); portfolio must demonstrate user-centered design and complex-product thinking.
• Communication & Problem-Solving: 5 years communicating ideas to diverse audiences and integrating feedback; proven conceptual, strategic problem-solving.
• Adobe Creative Suite: 5 years’ proficiency including After Effects for animation plus Illustrator/visual tools for production-ready assets.
• Onsite Collaboration: Effective partner to product, technology, and business stakeholders in agile; available onsite minimum 4 days/week.

Preferred Skillsets

• Experience in complex digital product environments.
• Personal experience or interest in investing, wealth management, or financial services (asset, not required).
• Agile methodologies / working in an agile process (5 years’ familiarity).
• HTML/CSS fundamentals — able to produce web-ready assets and designs.
• High-fidelity prototypes, user flow diagrams, and storyboards.
