Job summary

Tolko Industries Ltd. in Vernon, British Columbia, is seeking a Product Coordinator, Plywood to coordinate product supply and inventory, maximize resources, and build strong relationships with sales, logistics, and customers.

The role focuses on timely shipments, cost-effective capacity use, and proactive responses to market shifts. The successful candidate will gather and analyze supply data, use Outlook and Excel, and collaborate across functions while applying basic accounting principles.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in business, forestry, manufacturing or equivalent experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience providing positive customer experience, with proven relationship and conflict management skills.
  • Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to provide multiple solutions to a given challenge.
  • High level of ability in Outlook (email management) and Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookups).
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles.
  • Working knowledge of up and down stream supply chain structure.
  • Experience in forestry or wood products is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to notice discrepancies in data.
  • Experience in Dynamics365 is an asset.
  • Works collaboratively with other team members.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and communicate product supply information to manage working capital and on-time shipment.
  • Work to achieve optimum value for Tolko by effectively utilizing truck and rail car capacity and rates.
  • Respond quickly and proactively to supply and demand shifts via market allocation processes.
  • Use problem-solving skills to suggest changes to individual orders when production does not meet order file.
  • Liaise with sales and agents closely on customer requirements.
  • Monitor customer credit, shipping cut-offs and work on container load plans.

We’re looking for a Product Coordinator, Plywood to join our head office located in Vernon, British Columbia. Our head office houses Tolko’s corporate services groups including Sales, Marketing & Logistics, Finance, Accounting & Credit, IT, Procurement and Human Resources.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Some post-secondary education in business, forestry, manufacturing or equivalent experience.
