Job summary

Summerhill Market in Aurora, Ontario, is seeking an experienced Produce Manager to lead a fast-moving department with a focus on freshness and merchandising. You will guide daily operations, coach a team, and ensure exceptional customer experiences in a high-volume grocery setting.

You’ll drive product quality, inventory control, and visually compelling displays while upholding safety standards. This hands-on leadership role offers flexible scheduling and a collaborative, inclusive workplace.

What you’ll do

• Lead and support the day-to-day operations of the Produce Department
• Drive exceptional product quality, freshness, rotation, and presentation standards
• Manage inventory, ordering, shrink, and department profitability
• Coach, train, and develop team members to deliver excellent customer service
• Create visually impactful displays that inspire customers and maximize sales
• Ensure food safety, sanitation, and health & safety standards are consistently upheld
• Support scheduling, productivity, and labour management within the department
• Jump in wherever needed — this is a hands-on leadership role

What we’re looking for

• Previous Produce Department leadership experience in grocery or specialty retail
• Strong knowledge of fresh produce handling, merchandising, and inventory management
• A natural leader with excellent communication and team-building skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically active environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Flexible availability including weekends and holidays as required
• Passion for food, retail, and creating an exceptional customer experience
