Job summary

A leading agricultural company is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support purchasing operations and vendor management. This role includes executing purchase orders, managing supply chain logistics, and developing operational procedures. Qualifications

Procurement Specialist

Currently we are hiring for a:

Procurement Specialist

The Procurement Specialist will help support the Product Line Team and the Procurement Manager. The Procurement Specialist is accountable for the execution, modification, and status of purchase orders, warehouse transfers, ETA requests and other general procurement duties as outlined below.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • JDE: setup new vendors, business units, and warehouse partners.
  • Track and resolve indirect expenses and payments through Medius, working with accounting.
  • Track and resolve variances on Purchase Orders through Medius, working with AP.
  • Under the direction of the Product Line Procurement Manager:
    • Execution, modification and communicate status of current Purchase Orders.
    • Manage exceptions to product delivery.
    • Update Supply Managed Dashboard.
    • Co-ordination of inbound shipments with Customer Service team.
    • Co-ordination of direct shipments from vendors and US warehouses.
    • Support internal warehouse transfers (CAD-CAD warehouse and US-CAD warehouse).
    • Support international logistics and transportation functions.
    • Be involved in B2B connectivity
  • Assist in the development or refinement of SOPs (standard operating procedures) and SLAs (service level agreements) with key stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain purchase order templates and other templates and forms as required for the Procurement team.
  • Assist with internal forecasting projects, as well as customer program fulfilment.
  • Creation of new SKU’s and & management of inventory item numbers with Master Data team.
  • Supports Supply Chain with inventory maintenance, management, and reconciliation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Business Administration Diploma or High School Diploma with a minimum of two years’ relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ accounts payable, accounts receivable or related experience preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to self-organize work and time effectively and produce work to deadlines independently.
  • Have strong attention to detail and demonstrate solid problem-solving skills.
  • Strong basic math and data entry skills and solid grasp of basic accounting principles and standards.
  • Proficient with Excel, Word and Outlook and able to learn and utilize accounting software.
  • Experience in purchasing, management of inventory and vendor relationships a strong asset.
