About the Role

Reporting to the Director, Development and Construction Procurement, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for the management and execution of activities surrounding the procurement of goods and services supporting Project Development and Construction of battery energy storage systems (BESS), wind and solar assets across North America, with a large focus on sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue Request for Proposals (RFPs), evaluate proposals with internal stakeholders and lead contractual negotiations with suppliers
  • Negotiate agreements and support contract renewals
  • Develop sourcing strategies that maximize value and mitigate risks to the company and its clients
  • Work with functional leaders to set strategic procurement direction
  • Safeguard, and ensure adherence to, all company procurement processes and policies
  • Create purchase orders in support of Project Development and Construction activities
  • Assist in other day-to-day Procurement tasks as required
  • Experience with negotiating EPC, Major Equipment and Long-Term Services Agreements for utility-scale projects

Knowledge and Experience Required

  • A minimum of four (4) years of work experience in procurement and experience Renewable Energy (BESS, Wind, and Solar) Project sourcing & contracting
  • Completion of a degree in Business Administration or Engineering
  • Strong negotiation skills & working knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques
  • Thorough understanding of full cycle procure to pay process & previous experience using an ERP system (Procore considered an asset)
  • Working knowledge in all Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent project management and organizational and time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to self-motivate and work on a variety of tasks and projects simultaneously in an ever-changing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently within a team environment
  • Positive, proactive approach to enhancing procurement methods and company practices
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
