Overview

Reporting to the Director Procurement Projects, the Procurement Project Manager will be responsible for the procurement of Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) and Home Supplies & Services (HS&S) for new long-term care homes, acquisitions, divestitures and capital for all Extendicare and Extendicare Assist long-term care homes and SGP members as assigned/contracted. The Procurement Project Manager will also be involved in the development and implementation of the Procurement Department Policies and Department Standard Operating Procedures and will provide excellent customer services to all stakeholders and SGP Partners.

This position will be based at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario. Extendicare offers a hybrid working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working with key stakeholders, create project procurement plan to manage procurement services for approved project scope;
  • Develop project reporting to manage and track project status and project budget;
  • Develop communications plan with stakeholders, operations and vendors;
  • Support the development of brand standards;
  • Create customized project templates for FF&E and HS&S for each project;
  • Source, tender FF&E and HS&S, create bid summaries
  • Support creation of high level budgets and tendered budgets;
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to value engineer budgets and attain approvals
  • Place orders, expedite and manage invoices;
  • Work with vendors and stakeholders (such as corporate, operations, consultants and construction) to coordinate deliveries in accordance to project milestones and timelines;
  • Regular travel is required as part of this role to project sites across Ontario to support the management of deliveries and installations
  • Provides hands-on support to operations with home activation while on project sites
  • Resolve deficiencies with a sense of urgency;
  • Coordinate vendor training with operations on site with operations as needed;
  • Support project close activities such as preparing final project close documents
  • Collaborate with SGP category leads to source products and resolve issues as needed
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as required.
What We’re Looking For
  • Completion of a University Degree or College Program with emphasis on business or procurement or accounting or project management
  • 3-5 years of experience managing projects from start to finish.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Data Base applications.
  • Experience in creating/managing purchase orders and managing invoices.
  • Experience in the procurement of FF&E and OS&E will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, project management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must have a valid driver’s license as regular travel in Ontario is required
  • Self-motivated, accountable and ability to work independently.
