Job summary

BCNET is seeking a Procurement Officer to lead major collaborative procurement activities ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality. The role ensures compliance with BCNET policies, legislation, and trade obligations while working with the Procurement team, members, and leadership to deliver procurements.

You will develop tender documentation, review contracts, coordinate activities, and advise staff on best practices.

Qualifications

• University degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• SCMP designation or related procurement training would be considered an asset.
• Minimum of five years of related procurement experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Public sector and/or post-secondary procurement experience would be considered an asset.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with staff, members, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, legislation, trade agreement requirements, and procurement documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, analyze, and evaluate tender and procurement documentation.
• Prepare, review, and support the development of contracts and related procurement documents.
• Plan and coordinate procurement activities in collaboration with BCNET staff, members, and stakeholders.
• Support effective supplier and vendor relationships throughout the procurement lifecycle.
• Provide procurement expertise, guidance, and support to staff involved in supply management activities.
