The Procurement Manager leads purchasing activities in support of production and Creation’s operational requirements at the functional or Business Unit (BU) level. The role includes team resource development, supplier management, and driving procurement best practices and processes. The Procurement Manager acts as the primary escalation point for issues, builds positive relationships with internal and external customers, and supports corporate strategic initiatives for Supply Chain. Success in this role requires strong leadership, excellent people skills, and organizational abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Coach and mentor a team of dedicated Buyers.
- Provide coaching and training to support standardized processes and lead the implementation of buying initiatives.
- Partner with leadership to ensure buying practices meet customer needs and cost targets.
- Assign buying resources across the business unit to balance workload and meet demand.
- Handle transactional approvals such as POs, credit card requests, PPV approvals, pre-payment approvals, supplier qualification approvals, and inventory adjustments.
- Act as the primary local escalation point for part shortages and delivery issues.
- Coordinate with the Planning team to align activities for optimal impact.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers.
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to drive cost reduction and inventory reduction initiatives supporting EBITDA targets.
- Support corporate strategic initiatives including material cost reductions and supplier discounts.
- Monitor supplier performance and lead improvement plans related to quality, delivery, and service.
- Maintain key supplier relationships and conduct regular business reviews.
- Drive material strategies in PFEP/VMI and ensure contract adherence.
- Review KPI performance with team members, conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings, and recognize achievements.
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) of new tools/processes and act as a superuser.
- Assist in developing and implementing SOPs and desk instructions.
- Represent the Director of Supply Chain in their absence.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Supply Chain.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in operations, inventory, or purchasing management, or equivalent experience.
- 5-10 years of planning/buying experience, preferably in the electronics industry.
- Proficiency in Windows-based operating systems and related software.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office, including Excel (VLOOKUPs, data filters, pivot tables).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience with ERP systems in a Supply Chain environment, including buying and inventory management.
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
- Certification or enrollment in APICS or PMAC is preferred.
- Lean Supply Chain experience is beneficial.
- Practical industry experience in a multi-location manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a high-paced, changing environment.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work independently and drive continuous improvement.
