Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking a permanent, full-time Procurement Data Specialist based in Edmonton or Calgary. The role is the owner of procurement master data, collaborating with internal stakeholders, external suppliers and Caterpillar to gather information requirements for the ERP system and identify value-added opportunities across the organization.

You will analyze data for accuracy, update master data, troubleshoot issues, and design reports and dashboards to support procurement performance

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Business or Supply Chain.
  • 2+ years in data management or supply chain.
  • Experience with ERP systems and data governance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize procurement data and systems, maintaining supplier/item master data within the ERP.
  • Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to gather requirements and translate needs into system improvements.
  • Develop and maintain data governance standards to ensure accuracy, compliance and data integrity across procurement processes.
  • Design, deliver and maintain reports and dashboards to support decision-making and performance tracking.
  • Mentor Procurement Data Coordinators and support cross-functional teams in data processes and reporting tools.

Company:Finning CanadaNumber of Openings:1Worker Type:PermanentPosition Overview:Finning Canada is looking to hire a permanent, full-time Procurement Data Specialist in Edmonton or Calgary who will report to the Procurement Performance Manager.The Procurement Data Specialist will be an expert and owner of all procurement master data. Responsibilities include collaborating with internal stakeholders, external suppliers and Caterpillar to gather and process information requirements to facilitate the daily and long term requirements vital to the ERP system and identify value-added opportunities across the organization. This role will also be responsible for analyzing and evaluating data for accuracy, updating master data as well as troubleshooting and resolving problems related to procurement master data. Another key responsibility will be creating reports/dashboards to support the procurement department and drive continuous improvement to achieve procurement excellence.Job Description:Major Job Responsibilities:Manage and optimize procurement data and systems by maintaining the integrity of supplier, item, and related master data within the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, while supporting overall system functionality and data architecture.Partner with internal and external stakeholders to gather business requirements, support data analysis, and translate operational needs into system and process improvements that enhance procurement performance.Support ERP systems and continuous improvement initiatives by contributing to system enhancements, configuration changes, and integration activities in collaboration with IT and cross-functional teams to improve efficiency and effectiveness.Develop and maintain data governance standards by establishing data policies, controls, and best practices to ensure consistency, accuracy, compliance, and system integrity across procurement processes.Design and deliver reporting and insights by developing and maintaining reports, dashboards, and analytical outputs to support decision-making, performance tracking, and operational visibility.Provide mentorship and guidance to Procurement Data Coordinators and support cross-functional teams in data processes, reporting tools, and system usage.Lead and contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to optimize procurement systems, workflows, and data processes, and ensuring initiatives are tracked through to completion.Education and Experience:Post-secondary degree in Business or Supply Chain, related to Data Management, Operations Management or related field2+ years experience in a Data Management or Supply Chain roleStrong computer skills and proficient in MS Office Suite – specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPointExperience with MS Power Automate or similar workflow automation toolsExperience with analytics and the development of reports, metrics and dashboards using tools such as PowerBISQL and Excel (VBA) knowledge is an assetPrevious experience with SAP Ariba would be an assetKnowledge and understanding of end-to-end supply chain managementWorking knowledge of ERP and data base systemsSoft Skills:Highly developed analytical and problem solving skillsQuality and timeliness - demonstrates a high level of organization, accuracy, and thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure quality, and able to prioritize key tasks versus required timelines.Takes initiative and displays creativity and innovation in achieving resultsClear concise written, verbal, communication, presentation skills that are professional, timely and accurateStrong customer focusAbility to influence and collaborateAbility to adapt to changing requirements and provide necessary supportPassion for driving continuous improvementsAt Finning, we prioritize creating a diverse and inclusive environment.
