Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking a permanent, full-time Procurement Data Specialist to manage procurement data and support ERP systems in Edmonton or Calgary.

The role partners with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, drive data-driven improvements, and deliver insightful dashboards using Power BI, SQL, and SAP Ariba where applicable, ensuring data governance and continuous procurement performance enhancements.

Qualifications

• Relevant post-secondary degree in Business or Supply Chain.
• 2+ years in a Data Management or Supply Chain role.
• Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with MS Power Automate or similar workflow automation tools.
• Experience with analytics and the development of reports, metrics and dashboards using Power BI.
• SQL knowledge; SAP Ariba experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain and ERP/database systems.

Job Description

Major Job Responsibilities:

• Manage and optimize procurement data and systems by maintaining the integrity of supplier, item, and related master data within the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, while supporting overall system functionality and data architecture.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to gather business requirements, support data analysis, and translate operational needs into system and process improvements that enhance procurement performance.
• Support ERP systems and continuous improvement initiatives by contributing to system enhancements, configuration changes, and integration activities in collaboration with IT and cross-functional teams to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain data governance standards by establishing data policies, controls, and best practices to ensure consistency, accuracy, compliance, and system integrity across procurement processes.
• Design and deliver reporting and insights by developing and maintaining reports, dashboards, and analytical outputs to support decision-making, performance tracking, and operational visibility.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to Procurement Data Coordinators and support cross-functional teams in data processes, reporting tools, and system usage.
• Lead and contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to optimize procurement systems, workflows, and data processes, and ensuring initiatives are tracked through to completion.

Education and Experience

• Post-secondary degree in Business or Supply Chain, related to Data Management, Operations Management or related field
• 2+ years experience in a Data Management or Supply Chain role
• Strong computer skills and proficient in MS Office Suite – specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience with MS Power Automate or similar workflow automation tools
• Experience with analytics and the development of reports, metrics and dashboards using tools such as PowerBI
• SQL and Excel (VBA) knowledge is an asset
• Previous experience with SAP Ariba would be an asset
• Knowledge and understanding of end-to-end supply chain management
• Working knowledge of ERP and data base systems
