A leading consulting firm seeks a Junior Procurement Coordinator for a 3-month contract in Toronto, with a strong likelihood of extension. The role involves supporting procurement processes, liaising with teams, and ensuring timely purchase orders and vendor setups. Candidates should have a relevant degree and 1-2 years of experience, ideally holding or pursuing supply chain certification.
We are looking for a Junior Procurement Coordinator for a 3 months contract with high possibility of extension. Role is hybrid with 3 days a week on site.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Perform and support the process requirements through Service Now forms and contract system,
follow-up on outstanding items and issues, gather business and operational requirements,
support buyers with correcting and tracking down discrepancies, generate purchase orders in a
timely manner once agreement is fully approved, expedite orders and arrange special delivery
requirements, verify and validate purchase requirements against budgetary amounts, and
provide all required follow up with suppliers including invoices, cost discrepancies, etc.
• Facilitate the review, verification and approval of new Vendor Account set up by gathering
necessary documents, such as invoice or a letter from supplier, as proof to set up a new supplier
and determine if they meet the qualification criteria.
• Liaises with the Accounts Payable (A/P), Finance and business teams with regards to purchase
requirements and requisitions, invoices, cost discrepancies, and address re-occurring concerns.
• Support and coordinate the RFx process which includes assisting with the review of submissions,
development and administration of requirement, meetings with vendors and various
stakeholders, document and take minutes at meeting to capture the smallest details, provide
status updates to the department heads throughout the various projects and initiatives, and
coordinates the evaluation process to ensure timely results.
MUST HAVE;
• University degree or Community College Diploma and a minimal of 1-2 years of demonstrated
experience in Procurement/Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain Management, Business/Commerce,
Finance or Administration.
• Working towards or having obtained CSCMP Certified Supply Chain Management Professional
Designation or other Supply Chain Certification is an asset.
• Strong communication skills - both verbal and written.
• Sound judgment and decision-making.
• Strong negotiations and collaboration skills in a team setting.
• Organizational skills and time management skills; planning and project management, and ability
to meet multiple deadlines
Nice Have;
• Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft 8.9, ServiceNow and PowerBI is an asset.
