Procurement Coordinator (1 year contract)

Join Our Team as a Procurement Coordinator!

Are you ready to make a significant impact at the Toronto Parking Authority? Reporting to the Manager of Strategic Sourcing and Procurement, the Procurement Coordinator plays a pivotal role in facilitating procurement activities in SAP. This position supports business units and leadership by championing best practices throughout the Procure-to-Pay process, establishing robust process controls through governance and reporting.

As a Procurement Coordinator, you'll provide exceptional customer service and be an innovative and creative business partner for internal stakeholders. You'll be the gatekeeper for governance of Purchasing processes in SAP, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement across the Toronto Parking Authority.

Major Responsibilities:
  1. Establish, execute and support continuous improvement of best practices in SAP throughout the Procure-to-Pay process
  2. Interpret supplier contracts and set Purchase Orders and SAP contracts for efficient execution and effective controls
  3. Evaluate purchasing requests from business stakeholders and process Purchase Orders while maintaining appropriate documentation against established contracts, accurate cost accounting, and effective spend controls
  4. Understand procurement and accounting policies to meet expected outcomes
  5. Act as a liaison providing training and hands-on support to business stakeholders on SAP best practices, especially creating purchase requisitions and receiving
  6. Support continuous improvement of established processes
  7. Provide reports to business owners related to budget controls, spend management, and timely receiving
  8. Support documentation activities related to purchasing to meet audit requirements
  9. Develop internal dashboards, metrics, and benchmarks for evaluating continuous improvement
Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
  1. Post-secondary diploma/degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  2. Minimum three (3) years of experience in purchasing, logistics, or procurement and relationship management
  3. Experience in the public sector (preferred)
  4. Knowledge of project management and contract management processes (desirable)
  5. Experience with large ERP systems (such as SAP)
  6. Experience with PR/PO/Receiving functions in SAP or similar ERP systems (essential)
Skills:
  • Confident, independent team player capable of partnering with stakeholders
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written, visual)
  • High accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong desire for continuous process improvement
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with an ability to meet deadlines
