Role Description

The Procurement Assistant will be responsible for assisting and coordinating the daily operations of the procurement department, including managing food and non-food supply chains and ensuring compliance with relevant standards. This role requires a detail-oriented and organized individual with strong analytical skills, focused on maintaining quality and compliance across all aspects of supply chain management.

Responsibilities
  • Provide spend analysis and reporting, identifying cost-saving opportunities and tracking savings.
  • Develop successful relationships with stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Conduct internal audits to review costs and identify savings in food and non-food purchases.
  • Implement procurement strategies, maintain stock levels, and plan for contingency sourcing.
  • Research and identify new suppliers and products locally and internationally.
  • Monitor supply trends and shortages to mitigate risks without sacrificing quality or service.
  • Assist in the tender management process.
  • Manage vendor relationships, ensuring contract compliance and performance.
  • Review supplier performance regularly and seek better alternatives.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Maintain proper storage conditions for procured items.
  • Implement loss prevention standards.
Qualifications
  • Experience in procurement, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and multitasking ability.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
  • Experience in the airline catering industry is an asset.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and ISO standards.
