About the role:

Reporting to the Procurement Lead, this role will be responsible for leading tenders across various sites, analyzing spend from closed sites focusing on operations and capital expenditures, creating efficiencies in the procurement process (from tender preparation to KPI evaluation), and managing procurement tracking files and presentations.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Consolidate spend data and identify categories for cross-site or regional efficiencies.
  2. Create and maintain benchmarking reports for engineering rates, earthmoving equipment, liners, propane, etc., to support vendor selection.
  3. Assist in developing procurement strategies (e.g., MSA, open PO, RFP, Rates) for specific commodities/services.
  4. Develop and update the annual Procurement Plan in Excel, coordinating with project and procurement teams.
  5. Manage the procurement plan, ensuring it reflects current status, timelines, strategies, and contracts.
  6. Prepare monthly procurement and finance reports with support from the Procurement Lead.
  7. Lead the mapping of procurement processes, ensuring standards are incorporated and kept current.
  8. Develop and evaluate KPIs for suppliers, managing data collection and reporting.
  9. Lead procurement processes through competitive bidding and negotiations, adhering to policies and delegation of authority.
  10. Guide project teams in evaluating and selecting services.
  11. Support operational initiatives and ensure value generation from sourcing activities.
  12. Assess suppliers based on selection criteria.
  13. Communicate market reports, contract info, and new opportunities to stakeholders.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • University degree in Business, Engineering, or relevant experience.
  • Post-secondary courses or certifications in supply chain/logistics (e.g., Supply Chain Canada).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in operations, maintenance, logistics, engineering, or procurement.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Power BI.
  • Experience leading change and implementing new solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills utilizing technology tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lead multifunctional teams and provide constructive feedback.
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset.

Travel: Occasional site visits based on business needs.
