About the role:

Reporting to the Procurement Lead, this role will be responsible for leading various tenders for various sites, the strategic analysis of our closed sites spend, from a perspective of operations and capital expenditures, creating efficiencies in the overall procurement process (from tender prep to KPIs and evaluations) and managing the Procurement Plan tracking file and PowerPoint updates.

More specifically, you will be tasked with:
• Consolidate, spend, and identify area/categories where we can leverage across sites or regions to obtain efficiencies in performance and/or cost;
• Create and maintain a benchmarking report for items such as engineering rates and other major items such as, earthmoving equipment, liners, propane, to facilitate vendor selection justification.
• Identify with assistance of the procurement lead, procurement strategies (ex: MSA, open PO, RFP, Rates) for certain commodities/service types.
• Develop the Procurement Plan in excel format on an annual basis by coordinating with project team for capex and procurement team for operations (including EOR- DSI and DSR).
• Manage the procurement plan excel file by working with procurement team to ensure the plan stays current with status, execution dates, strategies, contract start/end dates.
• Prepare monthly Procurement/Finance report with assistance from the Procurement Lead.
• Lead the mapping of the entire Procurement process ensuring the relevant Standards are included. Keep the mapping current as procurement and standards evolve and/or best practices are identified.
• Lead the development of KPIs for suppliers and their resultant evaluations.
• Manage the KPIs reporting by working with sites on data collection.
• Lead assigned procurement process by way of competitively bidding/negotiating scopes of work using the NALA tender process and Delegation of Authority (DOA).
• Lead project teams in the evaluation and selection of the assigned services.
• Assist the Procurement Lead in meeting objectives including the adoption of improvement tools and programs that promote procurement efficiencies; ensuring tendering and negotiation processes are aligned with our policies and procedures.
• Work with Glencore Legacy sites and effectively maintain site requirements ensuring that value generation is the end result of each sourcing initiative.
• Assess potential suppliers according to selection criteria.
• Provide support to the operations on key operational initiatives as necessary.
• Share and communicate contract information, market reports, and identify new opportunities to key stakeholders.

Skills:
• University degree in Business or if relevant experience, degree in Engineering.
• Post secondary courses or certificates in supply chain/logistics such as but not limited to Supply Chain Canada Association (Certs/Designation/Courses).
• 5 years of relevant experience in operations, maintenance, logistics, engineering or procurement.
• Advanced Ability in Microsoft office and Power BI.
• Experience leading, maintaining and influencing significant change as a result of implementation of new solutions.
• Ability to utilize various technology tools to complete analysis.
• Ability to organize priorities and manage time with limited supervision.
• Ability to lead and work within multifunctional teams.
• Capable of delivering challenging and constructive feedback to suppliers and maintaining steady directions yielding efficient, effective results.
• Bilingualism (English, French) is an asset.
Travel: Occasional travel to sites, based on business needs
