Role: Procurement Advisor & Buyer

About the role: Reporting to the Procurement Lead, this role will lead tenders across sites, analyze closed site spend, create efficiencies in procurement processes, and manage procurement tracking files and presentations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Consolidate spend data and identify opportunities for cost and performance efficiencies across sites and regions.
  • Create benchmarking reports for engineering rates, earthmoving equipment, liners, propane, etc., to support vendor selection.
  • Assist in developing procurement strategies (e.g., MSA, open PO, RFP, Rates) for various commodities/services.
  • Develop and maintain the annual Procurement Plan in Excel, coordinating with project and procurement teams.
  • Manage procurement plan updates, ensuring current status and timelines.
  • Prepare monthly procurement/finance reports with support from the Procurement Lead.
  • Map and continuously improve procurement processes, incorporating standards and best practices.
  • Develop and evaluate KPIs for suppliers, managing data collection and reporting.
  • Lead procurement processes, including bidding, negotiating, and evaluating service scopes via NALA and DOA.
  • Support site operations and assess suppliers based on established criteria.
  • Communicate market insights, contract info, and new opportunities to stakeholders.

Skills and qualifications:

  • University degree in Business, Engineering, or relevant experience.
  • Post-secondary courses/certifications in supply chain/logistics (e.g., Supply Chain Canada).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in operations, maintenance, logistics, engineering, or procurement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Power BI.
  • Experience leading change and implementing new solutions.
  • Strong organizational and team leadership skills.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
