Job summary

Primero America’s team in Montreal is seeking a Process Engineer to join a growing practice focused on mineral processing plants. The role involves process calculations, mass balances, flow-sheet and P&ID development, and collaboration with multiple disciplines to deliver client-ready designs.

The candidate should have a Process/Chemical/Metallurgical Engineering degree and an eligible P.Eng license, with 4–8 years of applicable experience.

Qualifications

• 4 to 8 years’ experience in engineering, operation and/or commissioning works.
• Experience in the mineral processing, metal refining, or related industries.
• High level of analytical ability used to solve complex problems.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient reading of specs, schematics, and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop process flow diagrams, P&IDs, design criteria, and technical specifications.
• Support equipment selection and process planning.
• Provide strategic guidance to engineering teams and ensure project alignment.
• Propose metallurgical solutions and plan process modifications.
• Participate in test work management, client requirement analysis, and plant performance follow-up.
• Contribute to internal policy reviews and ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables.
