Job summary

Primero America's team is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support mining and heavy industrial projects from engineering through commissioning. You will lead cross‑discipline coordination, manage contractors, and ensure safety, schedule, and budget adherence.

Role reports to Engineering Manager and may involve site execution in a fast-paced EPCM environment. Preferred is hands-on, adaptable engineering with experience in project delivery and strong client communication; hybrid work is

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
• 10+ years of experience in project engineering and project delivery in mining/mineral processing.
• Experience in both project engineering and project management roles.
• Strong site-based experience during construction and commissioning.
• Proven ability to manage contractors, schedules, budgets and risks.
• Familiarity with codes, standards and engineering practices; Primavera preferred; MS Project acceptable.
• 40 hours per week and legal authorization to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate project execution to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Act as Project Manager on assigned projects, planning, executing, and communicating with clients.
• Support Project Managers on larger projects as a senior team member.
• Manage contractors, subcontractors, and vendors through supply, construction and commissioning.
• Provide technical oversight, review documentation, ensure codes and standards compliance.
• Perform site engineering support including modifications and lift studies.
