Job description

Job Title: Process Engineer

We are seeking a Process Engineer for our client, a global leader in automotive manufacturing. The role involves managing multiple projects across three manufacturing plants, which are recognized internationally for quality and are among Canada's Top 100 Employers.

Cambridge, Ontario and Woodstock, Ontario

Job Type:

Long-term Contract

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage suspension arc welding line processes for gasoline and hybrid vehicles, addressing safety, quality, and productivity concerns.
  2. Conduct continuous engineering to meet key performance indices such as weld quality, cycle time, and repair ratio.
  3. Ensure dimensional accuracy of suspension parts according to Toyota Japan specifications, using 3D measurement techniques and jig adjustments.
  4. Develop inspection programs utilizing Polyworks software and introduce new measurement technologies like 3D scanners and CMMs.
  5. Implement RFID part flow tracking systems and lead inventory tracking projects across multiple facilities.
  6. Coordinate projects across departments to improve production control, including real-time inventory reporting.
  7. Perform process capability studies and cost projections related to welding materials and processes.
  8. Prepare manufacturing lines for full production, focusing on ergonomics and process improvements.
