Job summary

Ontario Municipal Health & Safety Professionals Association (OMHSPA) seeks a Health & Safety Coordinator to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the City’s occupational health and safety programs and systems.

The role ensures compliance with health and safety legislation while promoting a proactive safety culture focused on prevention, risk reduction, and employee wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the City’s health and safety programs and systems.
• Ensure compliance with applicable health and safety legislation while promoting a proactive safety culture focused on prevention and risk reduction.
• Collaborate with People Services, City leaders, employees, Joint Health & Safety Committees, contractors and external stakeholders to drive safety practices, manage incidents and claims, and deliver training across the organization.
