Job summary

Harbinger Network Inc. is seeking a dedicated health and safety professional for its Ontario operations in Toronto.

The role focuses on maintaining and improving the safety program across subcontracted sites, ensuring compliance with OHSA and internal policies. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of safety experience on construction projects, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to train and guide staff and contractors in safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in health and safety in a subcontracting environment preferred.
  • Experience with Ontario OHSA; exposure to WSIB and COR preferred.
  • Proven track record of hands-on safety work with employees.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with respect to standards, regulations, protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain current knowledge of all safety policies and procedures.
  • Revise and update safety policies as required by regulations or business needs.
  • Ensure management and supervisory staff comply with the HS program.
  • Arrange all meetings including communicating planned times.
  • Highlight known safety issues to the team.
  • Assist in reporting HS incidents and statistics to senior management monthly.
  • Deliver HS training programs to employees, contractors and visitors.
  • Ensure all employees have required training completed.
  • Train employees in workplace hazards.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and the HS program.
  • Uphold safe work practices across the workforce.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to staff on HS issues.
