Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of direct mortgage underwriting experience.
• Experience reviewing mortgage applications and assessing borrower risk.
• Ability to make lending decisions within authority and escalate outside limits.
• Knowledge of mortgage lending laws and underwriting procedures.
• Strong research, analysis, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; underwriting software is a plus.
• High school diploma; post-secondary education is an asset.
• Willingness to travel for client visits.

Responsibilities

• Review mortgage applications and assess credit, capacity, and collateral.
• Make decisions within authority and document recommendations.
• Follow underwriting policies and record decisions in the CRM.
• Build relationships with brokers and clients; support retention.
• Represent Calvert's values in communications and support business development.
• Assist with arrears and delinquency files.
