Job summary

Liberty Mutual Canada is seeking a Principal Risk Engineer, Construction & Inland Marine to lead risk engineering strategy across construction and Builder’s Risk portfolios. You will manage complex accounts, direct risk assessments, and deliver actionable guidance to underwriting and clients.

The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration with brokers and internal teams, and ongoing development of risk engineering tools and training, with travel across Canada.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in construction, risk engineering, or related fields.
• P.Eng. preferred; CPCU/CRM/CFPS/CIP are valued.
• Strong knowledge of Builder’s Risk, Inland Marine, and related lines.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk engineering strategy across construction and Builder’s Risk portfolios.
• Manage a portfolio of complex construction and Master Builder’s Risk accounts.
• Direct risk assessments and loss control services across lines to influence underwriting.
• Provide clear, actionable recommendations to underwriting, claims, brokers, and clients.
• Develop guidelines, training materials, and technical presentations to elevate practices.
