Job summary

Siemens Canada is seeking a Principal Platform Architect to define the architecture of a Canada‑based platform supporting AI, robotics, industrial data, and runtime‑oriented Physical AI applications. You will shape APIs, data contracts, event‑driven services, ingestion pipelines, and security architecture to scale from pilots to broad deployment.

Collaborating with AI/ML, robotics, backend, frontend, and DevOps teams, you will mentor engineers and contribute to architecture reviews, roadmaps,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• 10+ years in software architecture or platform engineering.
• Cloud‑native architectures, APIs, event‑driven design, and scalable data platforms.
• Strong ability to align architecture with cross‑functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define end‑to‑end platform architecture across ingestion, APIs, and deployment foundations.
• Establish modular architectural principles for robotics data use cases and Physical AI workflows.
• Design data contracts, service boundaries, and interface standards for robot, vision, edge, and research systems.
• Shape onboarding, dataset versioning, governance, and evaluation support.
• Define patterns for workflow orchestration, asynchronous processing, and observability.
• Collaborate with robotics integration engineers on connector strategies for edge sources.
• Guide decisions on cloud‑native services, storage, security, deployment models, and production hardening.
• Ensure evolution into future domains like validation harnesses and task workflow execution.
• Mentor engineers across backend, integration, and platform domains; raise technical quality.
• Contribute to architecture reviews, roadmaps, and build‑vs‑partner decisions.
