WSP’s mining team is seeking an experienced Principal Mine Hydrogeologist to join one of the world's leading mine services firms. About the Role:

This position involves technical leadership and project delivery in mining hydrogeology internationally, supported by a multidisciplinary team. Projects span the entire mining lifecycle, from exploration to closure.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver consulting services in hydrogeology, mine water management, waste, and environmental impact assessments.
  2. Provide technical expertise in mining hydrogeology.
  3. Lead, mentor, and collaborate with team members to support their development and project excellence.
  4. Participate in global technical groups to enhance technical visibility and standards.
  5. Assist in project coordination, budgeting, scheduling, and proposal development.
  6. Support client relationship development and business growth efforts.
  7. Promote a safety-first culture, adhering to health, safety, and wellbeing policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Proven experience in technical leadership within mining hydrogeology.
  • Broad experience across the mining lifecycle.
  • Strong client service orientation.
  • Successful track record in managing large, multidisciplinary projects on time and budget.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • MSc or Ph.D. in Hydrogeology or related field; BSc as a minimum.
Desirable Skills:
  • 15+ years of hydrogeology experience in mining.
  • Chartered/Professional Geologist registration.
  • Willingness to travel locally and internationally.
  • Strong local industry connections.
  • Leadership in high-performing teams and business development.
  • Experience with fieldwork, numerical modeling, GIS, and mine closure studies.
  • Chartered status with relevant professional bodies.
