Job summary

St. Joseph's Health System (SJHS) Hamilton seeks an experienced fundraising leader to drive major gift initiatives within the Foundation Development department.

You will strategically manage principal gifts, coordinate with senior hospital leadership, and guide donor engagement through tailored materials and stewardship programs. You will collaborate with communications and events teams to maximize impact, while maintaining donor databases and analytics to inform decisions and maintain

Qualifications

• Progressive experience in major gift fundraising and donor-centric programs.
• Experience supporting executives or senior leaders is an asset.
• Excellent writing, research, and presentation skills.
• Strong professionalism, discretion, and donor-centric mindset.
• Ability to collaborate across departments to advance initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Serve as fundraising strategist and operational leader for the Foundation.
• Develop strategies for Principal Giving Program and oversee gift opportunities.
• Support senior leaders with donor materials and campaign strategies.
• Identify and cultivate major and principal donors and moves management.
• Leverage data analytics to strengthen donor acquisition and retention.
• Draft high-level correspondence and prepare donor communications.
• Prepare tailored stewardship plans with the Senior Donor Relations Officer.
• Collaborate with Communications, Special Events, and Marketing teams.
• Maintain donor database with activity and contact notes.
