About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly accomplished Principal Exploration Geologist with specialized expertise in diamond exploration to join their team near Kimberley . This senior role will drive exploration strategy, manage large-scale projects, and provide expert technical guidance to identify and evaluate new diamondiferous deposits. You will play a crucial role in advancing the company's exploration portfolio and ensuring the discovery of significant diamond resources. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of diamond geology and a successful history of exploration success.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage diamond exploration projects from conceptualization through to resource definition.
• Develop and implement innovative exploration models and methodologies specific to diamond deposits.
• Oversee geological mapping, sampling, and drilling programs, ensuring data quality and geological integrity.
• Interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to identify exploration targets.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports, resource estimates, and investment proposals.
• Mentor and guide junior exploration geologists and contribute to the company's technical knowledge base.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in EconomicGeology or a related Earth Science discipline.
• Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in mineral exploration, with a significant focus on diamond exploration .
• Proven track record of discovering economically viable diamond deposits.
• Expertise in indicator mineral geochemistry, kimberlite/lamproite geology, and placer deposit exploration.
• Proficiency in geological modeling and GIS software.
