Job summary

Zynga seeks an experienced Principal Software Engineer to lead the AI tools team within Central Technology. You will craft the technical vision, design, and implementation of AI-powered developer tools that enhance productivity and player experiences at scale.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 6+ years of hands-on software development experience with AI/ML systems or developer tooling.
• Strong full stack experience (React, TypeScript) and backend (Python, GoLang, Node.js).
• Experience designing LLM-powered apps, agentic workflows, or AI developer tools.
• Experience with RESTful services and event-driven architectures; MCP-like integrations are a plus.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and cloud (AWS, GCP).
• OO and SOA design of scalable applications and systems.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product, design, and engineering.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain AI-powered developer tools and apps across the full stack.
• Design scalable AI systems and cloud integrations with LLM features.
• Write and review frontend and backend code for the AI tooling ecosystem.
• Identify and propose improvements to reduce tech debt and boost AI capabilities.
• Follow best practices for code quality, performance, and responsible AI.
• Collaborate with teams across Zynga on AI tooling and productivity.
• Review technical plans to align with the AI tools roadmap.
• Provide production and integration support for shared AI tools.
