Job summary

APPLY is seeking a Principal Agentic Engineer to own the technical vision across the full stack for enterprise-scale systems and to lead teams delivering AI-enabled, high-speed solutions. You will mentor engineers and drive design systems, cloud infrastructure, and API-first platforms.

You’ll work on an FDAIC-like multidisciplinary team, shaping engineering strategy, and partnering with CX, Strategy, and Product to deliver measurable client outcomes. Hybrid/remote-friendly in Canada time zones.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience across the full stack, with leadership at Staff or Lead level.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript; hands-on React and Next.js on the frontend and Node.js on the backend.
• Experience designing and maintaining RESTful or GraphQL APIs and backend services.
• Deep knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases; data modeling and performance optimization.
• Strong understanding of API design, cloud-native architectures, and MACH principles.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred; AWS/Azure valued) and containerization (Docker).
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD, and production deployment practices.
• Familiarity with AI tooling, agent-based delivery, and integration of AI-powered features.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end solutions across frontend, backend, APIs, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
• Provide clear technical direction across the full stack and ensure alignment with business goals.
• Champion scalable, secure, and maintainable software systems, API-first and cloud-native.
• Own architectural decisions across layers, from UI to infrastructure.
• Mentor engineers and raise engineering standards across teams.
• Collaborate with directors, product, UX, and stakeholders to deliver complex projects.
• Drive engineering craft and foster a culture of learning and innovation.
