Job summary

  • Direct Preventive Control Technicians in your area and monitor KPIs.
  • Improve PPCA cleaning and sanitation processes and audits.
  • Document all cleaning activities and report regulatory compliance findings.
  • Back up other PC Monitors and travel up to 30% as needed.

Overview

This is an on-shift people management role responsible for leading and overseeing Preventative Controls for Sanitation programs, while effectively supporting and continuously improving the Quality and Food Safety Management System.

This position is accountable for ensuring that food safety policies and procedures are consistently applied during manufacturing operations, and that frontline teams are coached and directed to meet all regulatory, customer, and consumer requirements.

Total Compensation: $51,800 - $84,420

Responsibilities
  • Driver of Food Safety/ Sanitation programs, including but not limited to: FSMA compliance (including Preventive Control documentation), Cleaning & Verification, Self- Inspections, Corrective Actions, Maintenance, Good Manufacturing Practice’s, Hygienic Zoning
  • Leading and directing Preventive Control Technicians in your designated area.
  • Lead process improvement of Primary Pathogen Control Areas (PPCA) for cleaning and sanitation.
  • Track and report Sanitation Preventive Control KPI’s.
  • Monitoring hygienic conditions in assigned PPCA area. Will be a back-up to other PC Monitors on the team to fill in during absences.
  • Perform routine audits of assigned area for acceptable sanitary guidelines. Fix unsatisfactory audit findings for continual PC compliance.
  • Ensure all cleaning activities are documented.
  • Inspect equipment post cleaning pre sanitizing steps, execute ATP swabbing.
  • Provide daily feedback to plant management as well as team members regarding regulatory compliance, quality/ food safety, safety, and reliability issues.
  • Work with direct manager to identify new opportunities for Sanitation Compliance using the Peterborough Food Safety Plan as a guide.
Qualifications
  • Associates degree, or equivalent work experience with High School degree
  • Must be able to work shift work (12 hour rotating shifts in a 7x24 operation)
  • Strong foundation in interpersonal communication concepts, specifically, written, oral, presentation, listening, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to lead team members, facilitate change, foster innovation, results, and manage timebound constraints.
  • Ability to effectively challenge status quo and provide open and constructive feedback to all levels of the organization. Ability to handle the “tough” conversations.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and plant personnel.
  • Working knowledge in principals of Facilitation, Prioritization, Problem Solving skills
  • Able to travel up to 30% of the time as required
