Job summary

Multi-Action in Ajax, ON is seeking a Press Operator for the B shift (4:15 PM – 3:15 AM). The role reports to the production supervisor and involves operating a press to produce orders with a mechanical mindset and strong attention to detail. Training starts on the A shift (5:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Mon–Thu).

The job requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and strict adherence to safety and quality checks to ensure on-time delivery. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

Press Operator- \"B\" Shift 4:15 PM - 3:15 AM

Full Time Ajax, ON, CA

Salary Range: $22.00 To $26.00 Annually

The Press operator works under the authority of the production supervisor at Multi-Action. The new team member must be able to operate a press for the production of orders. The successful candidate must have a mechanical mind and a good attention to detail in his work.

You will start work on the \"A\" shift for training- Schedule 5:30 AM- 4:30 PM Mon-Thursday

Skill Requirements:

• Receive and review customer specifications as per the job ticket and ensure components and material meet customers’ requirements before proceeding to run the job.
• Complete make ready in accordance with the job ticket and product specifications to ensure correct print cylinders, inks, substrates, tooling, and aniloxes are utilized.
• Set and maintain print registration, color matching, varnishes, and coatings.
• Responsible for completing all required quality checks related to product specifications, visual, and functional checks.
• Maintain consistent quality during the production run to include copy, color, registration, and ink adhesion while maximizing press speeds without compromise to quality. Quality conscientious is a must.
• Self motivated, quality conscientious, team player is a must.
• Communicate issues with appropriate personnel in a timely manner so as not to delay on-time delivery to the customer
• Communicates with various shifts and relays accurate, detailed information regarding the status of various jobs in progress
• Must have the ability to think through the mechanical aspects of press operations, problem solving and decision making.
• Work closely with teams/departments to create an environment that supports workflow and continuous improvements of all press room operations.
• Work safely, abide by and promote established safety policies and procedures. Identify any unsafe conditions.
• Maintain equipment in a safe, clean and tidy state
• Ability to work overtime as required
• Self-motivated, punctual, consistent, productive as well as efficient

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to work 11-hour shifts
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to bend at the knees and waist in a repetitive manner
