Job summary

LS Bilodeau inc. in Quebec seeks a sheet metal operator to read plans, set up and program a press brake, and handle loading/unloading of sheets while ensuring parts meet quality standards.

Working 40h/week, daytime, Monday to Thursday 7:30am–5pm and Friday 7:30am–12pm; Summer Fridays off. On-site position with group insurance and annual boots provided. Opportunities for advancement to senior operator or CNC programming.

Qualifications

• Ability to read plans, basic CNC programming knowledge and measuring tools.
• 1 to 2 years of sheet metal experience or related field.
• Knowledge of metric/imperial systems and precision measurement.

Responsibilities

• Read plans and adjust the press accordingly.
• Select and install the appropriate tools and dies.
• Program and operate the press brake for sheet metal bending.
• Load and unload sheets and metal parts.
• Check bend accuracy with calipers and a protractor.
• Approve first piece and adjust jigs before production.
• Perform quality control on formed parts.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and report issues.
• Keep a clean, safe workstation.
