Qualifications

  • Manufacturing experience, preferably in metal fabrication or forming.
  • Experience operating and programming a brake press is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience is an asset (training provided).
  • Experience using hand and power tools.
  • Plasma cutting and welding experience is an asset.
  • Mechanical aptitude with maintenance capability.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safety and following procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate brake press equipment to manufacture quality products.
  • Change tooling and dies to support production requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and production drawings.
  • Complete quality checks to ensure specifications are met.
  • Perform daily machine inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
  • Keep equipment clean, maintained and operating efficiently.
  • Identify minor equipment issues and perform basic adjustments.
  • Complete production records and quality documentation accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with supervisor and teammates to meet production goals.

Job description

Armtec is looking for a Brake Press Operator to join our production team in Guelph, Ontario. In this hands-on role, you'll operate and set up brake press equipment to manufacture quality metal components while helping ensure our products meet the high standards our customers expect.

What You'll Do
  • Set up and operate brake press equipment to manufacture quality products that meet company specifications.
  • Change tooling and dies to support production requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and production drawings.
  • Complete quality checks to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Perform daily machine inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
  • Keep equipment clean, well-maintained, and operating efficiently.
