Job summary

PMB in Saint-Henri, Quebec, is seeking a press brake operator to join the manufacturing team. You will read drawings, set up and run the press brake, produce parts to tight tolerances, and perform quality checks to ensure defect-free output.

The role involves standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and following safety procedures. Two schedules available: daytime 40 hours over 4–5 days with Friday off or evening shift Mon-Thu 4:15 pm–2:45 am, with an evening premium.

Qualifications

Job description

At PMB, reporting to the departmental leader, the press brake operator plays a key role in the department’s performance, the quality of products delivered and customer satisfaction. He/she is responsible for the precise bending of metal parts, in strict compliance with established tolerances, quality standards and aesthetic criteria.

The operator works closely with the sorting and welding departments to ensure smooth operations and an efficient manufacturing process. Depending on operational needs, he/she may also be called upon to assist other departments, demonstrating versatility and team spirit.

Main duties and responsibilities :

  • Read, interpret and understand technical drawings and specifications;
  • Select appropriate tools and perform press brake setups;
  • Operate the press brake to produce parts in accordance with quality, precision and time requirements;
  • Inspect the parts produced and ensure quality control;
  • Palletize and arrange parts according to required methods, based on the needs of internal and external customers;
  • Comply with health and safety procedures and operational standards;
  • Contribute to the department’s continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.

This position requires training in precision sheet metal work or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in bending.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys manual labor and challenges, with a willingness to learn and contribute proactively, and in whom we can invest with the aim of making a long-term colleague.

Daytime schedule: 40 hours in 4 or 5 days per week (Friday mandatory).
Evening schedule: Monday to Thursday, 4:15 p.m. to 2:45 a.m., 40 hours over 4 days.
Salary: To be determined, between $23.88 and $30.28/hour
Evening premium: $2.25/hour
