Job summary

Armtec Inc. in Tillsonburg, Ontario is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our HDPE manufacturing operations running safely and efficiently.

You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of equipment, including extruders, conveyors and grinders, while following all safety policies. The role requires hands-on maintenance experience, ability to read schematics, and a commitment to minimizing downtime and improving reliability.

Qualifications

• Hands-on troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance in manufacturing.
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings and schematics.

Salary Range: $38.00 To $40.00 Hourly

Armtec has an exciting career opportunity for a Maintenance Technician based out of our state-of-the-art facility in Tillsonburg, Ontario.

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician plays a key role in keeping our manufacturing operations running safely, reliably and efficiently.

This is a hands‑on, maintenance position ideal for an experienced industrial maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting, solving problems and working across a variety of equipment and facilities. You will support preventative and corrective maintenance activities throughout our HDPE operations, helping minimize downtime and improve equipment performance.

What You’ll Do

• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical issues on production and facility equipment.
• Diagnose and repair equipment including extruders, corrugators, conveyors, blenders, grinders, blowers, material conveying systems and forklifts.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs and equipment adjustments.
• Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic drawings and schematics.
• Identify equipment performance issues and recommend opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency and uptime.
• Complete temporary and permanent repairs to minimize production interruptions and equipment downtime.
• Perform welding and fabrication work related to production equipment and maintenance activities.
• Communicate equipment conditions, repair requirements and maintenance concerns to facility and regional management.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a clean, organized and safe condition.
• Follow all Company health and safety policies, procedures, safe work practices and applicable legislative requirements.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and plant performance.

What You Bring

• Industrial Millwright, Industrial Mechanic, Electro-Mechanical Technician, Automated Systems Electromechanic qualification, or a related combination of education and experience.
• Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong hands‑on experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Practical electrical troubleshooting knowledge and the ability to work with industrial equipment and controls.
• Experience completing preventative maintenance and diagnosing equipment failures.
• Welding and fabrication experience is an asset.
• Experience in HDPE, plastics extrusion, corrugated pipe manufacturing or a related production environment is considered an asset.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in continuing to develop both mechanical and electrical skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize maintenance needs and collaborate effectively with operations and maintenance teams.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with a practical, hands‑on approach.
• Reliable, organized and attentive to detail, with a commitment to completing work safely and to a high standard.
