Job summary

Brannon Steel in Brampton is seeking an experienced hydraulic Press Brake Operator for afternoon (3pm-11pm) or night (11pm-7am) shifts. Starting pay is $27.19 per hour with shift premiums up to $2 for afternoons or $4 for nights, plus overtime after 40 hours.

You will set up, operate, and troubleshoot hydraulic CNC press brakes, read drawings with GD&T, and work with heavy machinery and overhead cranes. A metal fabrication program background or prior press brake experience is preferred; English

Qualifications

• Strong experience operating heavy hydraulic press brakes or completion of a metal fabrication program.
• Overhead crane experience is required or preferred.
• Able to read part drawings including GD&T.
• Understanding of steel grades and characteristics.
• Able to lift up to 80 lbs (36 kgs) manually.
• Able to perform intermediate math.
• Proficient with basic and precision measuring tools.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Speak, read and write English at a conversational level.

Responsibilities

Job description

Brannon Steel is looking for an experienced hydraulic Press Brake Operator to join the team at its Brampton manufacturing location on the afternoon shift (3pm-11pm) OR the night shift (11pm-7am). Starting from $27.19 and up per hour depending on experience PLUS up to $2 per hour in afternoon shift premiums OR up to $4 per hour in night shift premiums.

Duties

• Above all, work safely!
• Setup, operate, and troubleshoot hydraulic CNC press brakes.
• Form large steel parts for world-class heavy equipment manufacturers.
• Perform material handling activities (i.e. locating material, tooling changes, loading / unloading machine) using an overhead crane or other material handling equipment.
• Organize equipment and materials to minimize downtime.
• Complete all required documents in an accurate and timely manner.
• Complete assigned housekeeping activities and contribute to overall shop cleanliness and organization.
• Inspect formed parts to ensure they meet required dimensions, specifications, and quality standards, and promptly identify and report any discrepancies.
• Assist other Forming staff when work schedule permits or as assigned.

• Strong experience operating heavy hydraulic press brakes OR completion of applicable metal fabrication program.
• Strong overhead crane experience.
• Skilled at reading part drawings including GD&T.
• Understanding of steel grades and characteristics.
• Able to perform manual material handling up to 36 kgs (80 lbs).
• Able to perform intermediate math.
• Proficient with basic and precision measuring tools.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Speak, read and write English at a conversational level.

• Shift premiums up to $4 per hour on nights and $2 per hour on afternoons.
• Overtime after 40 hours per week.
