Job summary

Brannon Steel is seeking an experienced Press Brake Operator for its Brampton facility. The role offers an afternoon shift (3pm-11pm) or a night shift (11pm-7am) with starting wages from CAD 27.19/hour plus shift premiums of up to CAD 2/hour (afternoon) or CAD 4/hour (night).

The successful candidate will set up, operate, and troubleshoot hydraulic CNC press brakes, read GD&T drawings, and handle materials with overhead cranes while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy hydraulic press brakes or completion of metal fabrication program.
• Overhead crane operation experience.
• Ability to read part drawings including GD&T.
• Understanding of steel grades and characteristics.
• Able to lift up to 80 lbs (36 kg) and perform intermediate math.
• Proficient with measuring tools and hand tools.
• English language skills (conversational).

Responsibilities

• Setup, operate, and troubleshoot hydraulic CNC press brakes.
• Form large steel parts for heavy equipment manufacturers.
• Handle materials and tooling changes with crane support.
• Keep equipment organized to minimize downtime and maintain safety.
• Ensure parts meet dimensions and quality specifications; report discrepancies.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Support other forming staff when schedule allows.

Job description

Brannon Steel is looking for an experienced hydraulic Press Brake Operator to join the team at its Brampton manufacturing location on the afternoon shift (3pm-11pm) OR the night shift (11pm-7am). Starting from $27.19 and up per hour depending on experience PLUS up to $2 per hour in afternoon shift premiums OR up to $4 per hour in night shift premiums.

Duties

• Above all, work safely!
• Setup, operate, and troubleshoot hydraulic CNC press brakes
• Form large steel parts for world-class heavy equipment manufacturers
• Perform material handling activities (i.e. locating material, tooling changes, loading / unloading machine) using an overhead crane or other material handling equipment
• Organize equipment and materials to minimize downtime
• Complete all required documents in an accurate and timely manner
• Complete assigned housekeeping activities and contribute to overall shop cleanliness and organization
• Inspect formed parts to ensure they meet required dimensions, specifications, and quality standards, and promptly identify and report any discrepancies
• Assist other Forming staff when work schedule permits or as assigned.

Requirements

• Strong experience operating heavy hydraulic press brakes OR completion of applicable metal fabrication program
• Strong overhead crane experience
• Skilled at reading part drawings including GD&T
• Understanding of steel grades and characteristics
• Able to perform manual material handling up to 36 kgs (80 lbs)
• Able to perform intermediate math
• Proficient with basic and precision measuring tools
• Proficient with hand and power tools
• Speak, read and write English at a conversational level
