Job summary

The City of Toronto is seeking staff for After-School Recreation Care within the Community Recreation Branch. This temporary, part-time role offers an hourly rate of $19.76 and operates Monday to Friday, 3:00-6:00 p.m.

across all districts during the Winter season, with a TBD start date. Responsibilities include planning activities for preschoolers and children, ensuring health and safety, and coordinating with caregivers.

Qualifications

• Must be minimum 16 years of age.
• Experience leading preschool and children’s activities.
• Skills in arts & crafts, games, sports or dance.
• Valid Intermediate First Aid - CPR C certification (WSIB recognized).
• PHCD certification provided after conditional offer.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and leads activities for preschoolers and/or children.
• Follows Healthy Child Development (HIGH FIVE®) principles in program delivery.
• Monitors participation and provides feedback for positive experiences.
• Ensures equipment meets Health and Safety standards and is stored after use.
• Performs administrative tasks to support the program.
• Takes action to deal with incidents and emergencies per policies.
• Liaises with caregivers and responds to inquiries.
• Attends meetings and training sessions.
