Job summary

Crescent Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Prep Cook to join our Culinary team in Canada. You will be responsible for preparing cold items for the line, pantry, and production area, while maintaining quality and portion control.

You will support the kitchen staff with production estimates, leftovers management, and proper storage. Flexibility to work various shifts is required in a dynamic hospitality environment.

• You have a keen eye for detail, and a passion for food.
• You don’t shy away from industrial equipment, manual work, or being on your feet for an entire shift.
• You are flexible to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• As a Prep Cook, you will prep cold food items for the line, pantry and production area of the main kitchen, ensuring timely and accurate preparation.
• Assist with set-up and breakdown of buffets, maintain proper pars of production level estimates, and ensure leftovers are used and properly stored.
• Keep refrigerators and work areas clean and organized, with proper food rotation.

Here is what you will be doing each day:

As a Prep Cook, you will be working with our Culinary team to ensure consistent high quality food and customer service is delivered. You will be responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of cold food items for the line, pantry and/or production area of the main kitchen. You are also responsible for assisting the kitchen staff in maintaining proper pars of production level estimates, ensuring leftovers are used and properly stored, maintaining the cleanliness and order of refrigerators and work areas, ensuring proper food rotation, assisting with the set-up and breakdown of buffets, and correctly filling out production charts.
