Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Transformer Assembly 1 (Grade A) worker to perform final assembly of electrical transformers. You will connect coils, assemble core/coil structures, and follow wiring and schematic diagrams with safety in mind.

Responsibilities include assembling per work orders, reading blueprints, and ensuring quality standards. The role requires physical fitness, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and willingness to work all shifts in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Must have Grade 12 education or equivalent.
• Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for long periods.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and BOMs.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tool use.
• Willing to work all shifts (days, afternoons, midnights).
• Must be able to work in a team and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality standards and safety procedures are followed.
• Assemble transformers according to specifications and work orders.
• Disassemble cores to facilitate lapping of coils and secure components.
• Attach wire harnesses and connect terminals per work order.
• Read schematics and assemble electrical systems and subassemblies.
• Rework assemblies or transformers with defects.
