Job summary

Brandt is seeking a Service Technician for heavy equipment at our Moncton location. You will evaluate the condition of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics and electrical systems, perform pre-delivery inspections, and carry out maintenance and minor repairs to ensure equipment readiness.

We value safety, customer service, and teamwork. Prior John Deere or heavy equipment experience is considered an asset, with journeyperson certification highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Foundational mechanical and technical aptitude.
• Strong commitment to health and safety at work.

• Ability to collaborate with service team and branch personnel.
• Ability to organize workload, set priorities and meet goals.
• Shows initiative to learn Brandt Tractor products and customers.
• John Deere heavy equipment experience is an asset.
• Other heavy equipment experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate working condition of heavy-duty mobile equipment (diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, pneumatics, steering, brakes, electrical systems).
• Perform full pre-delivery inspections to verify customer specifications and timelines.
• Carry out routine mechanical duties including assembly, maintenance and minor repairs.
• Properly use testing instruments and hand, air and electric tools.
• Safely handle rigging, welding, cleaning equipment where needed.
• Conduct road tests to verify machine and attachment functionality.
• Ensure safe handling of hazardous materials and proper disposal.
• Document processes and time on work orders accurately.
• Complete Brandt and OEM training modules to maintain knowledge.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of heavy-duty mobile equipment, including:
  • Diesel engine and engine support systems.
  • Transmissions.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Differentialsand final drives.
  • Steering, suspension, and brake systems.
  • Electrical/electronic systems.
  • Structural components.
  • Heating and cooling systems.
  • Machine operation and control systems.
  • Fluid and fuel systems.
• Perform full pre-delivery inspections on machinesto ensure units meet customer specifications accurately and on time.
• Perform routine mechanical duties as well as assembly, maintenance, and minor repair of equipmentto keep equipmentoperatingreliably.
• Use testing instruments, hand, air, and electric tools correctly in assembly, maintenance, repair, and inspectionaccurately andefficiently.
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely, such as rigging, welding equipment, and cleaning/pressure washerssafely and properly to support repair and assembly tasks.
• Perform equipment operation and road tests to verify machine andattachmentfunctionality safely and effectively.
• Ensure all work is performed safely, including the safe disposal, storage, or recycling of hazardous materials.
• Use computer applications and information systemsto support maintenance activities, inspections, and parts ordering promptly and accurately.
• Document assembly processes and record time on work orders completely and precisely to ensureaccuratereporting.
• Perform anyadditionalwork requested/requiredto meet the needs of PDI, Sales, Service, and their customers.
• Completeassigned Brandt and OEM training modules to continually increase knowledge and skill setproactively and consistently.
• Other duties as assigned.
