Job summary

Brandt is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician for our Chicoutimi Construction & Forestry location. This role focuses on diagnostics, service maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment for customers and dealers.

You will document findings, use John Deere Service Advisor, and ensure safety and efficiency in every task. Qualified candidates are apprentices or journeypersons in the heavy equipment trade, with strong mechanical/electrical/hydraulic knowledge, and a customer-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Outstanding knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Proven computer and technical aptitude and knowledge for diagnostics and calibration work.
• Strong time-management skills and customer-service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, and repair heavy duty equipment.
• Order parts and use related tools safely and effectively.
• Document work orders with machine information and actions taken.
• Ensure safety and quality standards in all service tasks.
• Utilize computer systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.

Brandt is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician for our Chicoutimi Construction & Forestry location.

This position is responsible for performing basic/complex diagnostics, service maintenance and repair work on customer and/or dealer-owned equipment on an efficient basis.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
• Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
• Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
• Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required

• Enrolled as an Apprentice or certified Journeyperson in the heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
