Job summary

Forbes Bros. Group of Companies is seeking a Journeyman Powerline Technician (PLT) to assist in the construction and maintenance of distribution powerlines across Canada. A valid Red Seal Journeyperson certificate and field experience are required, with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

The role covers field construction, project delivery, and collaboration with teams to meet project schedules. Travel and overtime may be required to support critical infrastructure programs.

Qualifications

• Red Seal journeyperson status in powerline work or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of distribution powerline construction and maintenance.
• Commitment to safety and hazard awareness across field and office.
• Excellent problem-solving and time-management abilities.
• Clear verbal and written communication for team and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair high- and low-voltage distribution systems.
• Troubleshoot overhead and underground lines and ensure safe operation.
• Construct distribution powerlines across all phases including framing of structures.
• Lead safe work practices and participate in tailboards and safety meetings.
• Support apprentice training and develop team readiness for inspections.
