Finning Canada is seeking a results-driven Power Systems Rental Project Manager to lead complex rental projects from planning through execution in Edmonton. You will manage cross-functional teams, coordinate site installations, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while upholding safety and quality standards.

This permanent, full-time role offers opportunities to drive continuous improvement with Lean Six Sigma practices and collaborate with sales, service operations, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of combined experience in project management, Lean/CI
• Experience in rental operations or technical service environment preferred
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple strategic projects using Finning's PM and CI methodologies.
• Develop and maintain project charters and roadmaps with owners and stakeholders.
• Coordinate rental project activities including site installation, operation, and demobilization.
• Support proposal development with equipment specs, labor planning, and subcontractor coordination.
• Mentor project leads and promote best practices in PM and CI.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, service operations, coordinators, and subs.
• Utilize PM tools to track progress, manage risks, and report milestones.
• Champion change management by identifying root causes and implementing improvements.
• Ensure compliance with Finning policies, safety standards, and confidentiality.
• Represent the company professionally with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Description

• Coordinate rental project activities, including job site installation, operation, and demobilization, ensuring timely and high-quality execution.
• Support proposal development, including equipment specifications, labor planning, and subcontractor coordination.
• Mentor and guide project leads, promoting best practices in project management and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, service operations, coordinators, and subcontractors to ensure project success.
• Utilize project management tools to track progress, manage risks, and report on key milestones and deliverables.
• Champion change management by identifying root causes of issues, implementing solutions, and ensuring sustainable improvements.
• Ensure compliance with Finning policies, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements.
• Represent the company professionally, maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of project management experience, with a focus on business improvement, change management, or rental operations.
• 5+ years of relevant business experience, ideally in a technical, service, or consulting environment.
• Training in Process Management, Change Management, Quality Management, or Lean Methodologies is preferred.
• Project Management certification is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, including Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement frameworks is an asset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence without authority.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a results-oriented mindset and comfort managing ambiguity.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and job site logistics is a strong asset.
• Familiarity with Caterpillar Power Systems products is considered an asset.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives.

• This position is based out of our Edmonton Power Systems location.
• Candidates in Calgary may also be considered.
• Permanent, full-time role.
• Monday - Friday, 5 x 2 schedule (availability to respond to emergencies after hours).
• Travel required, up to 25% of total work hours.
