Job summary

Ledcor is seeking a Journeyperson or Apprentice Linesperson to support the construction, installation, and maintenance of overhead and underground powerlines in Ontario. You will operate bucket trucks and other equipment, climb poles, and work safely to recognized industry standards.

The role requires 1–3 years in powerline construction or strong technical training, plus a valid license and willingness to travel across Ontario to job sites.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Powerline Technician certification or enrollment in lineman program.
• 1–3 years of experience in powerline construction or strong technical training.
• Ability to climb poles using spikes and work from bucket trucks or man-lifts.
• Strong knowledge of distribution powerline construction methods, tools, and safety procedures.
• Ability to read blueprints and construction documents.
• Class 5 driver’s license; Class 1 or 3 preferred; willing to provide a 5-year driving abstract.
• Physically able to work at heights and in varying weather.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Construct, install, inspect, and maintain overhead and underground power distribution systems.
• Operate bucket trucks, backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, digger derrick trucks, and other equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair distribution powerlines.
• Transport materials for installation of electrical systems.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and schematics.
• Track daily production, material usage, and support logistics and crew coordination.
• Follow OH&S standards and safety practices.
• Train and support junior workers or apprentices.
