Job summary

Ledcor is seeking a Journeyperson or Apprentice Linesperson to support construction, installation and maintenance of overhead and underground powerlines across Ontario, including Kingston. You will work at heights, operate bucket trucks and associated gear, ensuring installations meet safety standards.

Responsibilities include blueprint reading, crew coordination and training of junior workers. This on-site role involves travel across Ontario with long shifts and strict OH&S adherence.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Powerline Technician certification or enrollment in lineman apprenticeship.
• 1–3 years of powerline construction experience or strong technical training.
• Ability to climb poles using spikes and work from bucket trucks or man-lifts.
• Read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
• Class 5 driver’s license; Class 1 or 3 preferred; willing to provide 5-year abstract.

Responsibilities

• Construct, install, inspect, and maintain overhead and underground power distribution systems.
• Operate bucket trucks, backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, digger derrick trucks, and other equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair distribution powerlines.
• Transport materials used for installation of electrical systems.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, work plans and schematics.
