Job summary

Interior Health is seeking a Power Engineer 4 | Maintenance Supervisor for Summerland Health Centre in Summerland, BC. You will oversee day-to-day plant operations, supervise staff, coordinate work assignments, and support training and performance management.

You will perform hands-on maintenance across various trades and operate building systems including boilers, HVAC, and emergency power, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education plus five years of related experience, including two years in a supervisory capacity.
• Certificate of competency as 4th Class Power Engineer recognized by the Province of British Columbia.
• Valid BC Driver's License.

Your Role:

As a Power Engineer 4 | Maintenance Supervisor, you will oversee day-to-day plant and maintenance operations, supervising staff, coordinating work assignments, and supporting training and performance management. You will also perform hand-on maintenance and repairs across a variety of trades, while operating and maintaining boilers, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), emergency power, and other building systems. Through preventative maintenance, equipment monitoring, troubleshooting, and compliance with applicable codes and regulations, you will help ensure a safe, reliable, and efficient environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Work Schedule:

This is a permanent full-time position that works Monday to Friday day shifts from 07:30 to 15:30. Rotating on-call is required with this position. This position qualifies for a comprehensive benefits package, providing added peace of mind.

• Certificate of competency as 4th Class Power Engineer recognized by the Province of British Columbia.
